hi everyone, have been thinking over the last few days of a new project, wich was putting a motorbike engine one a ride on lawn mower, lowered, wider track, disc brakes and soo on......... I was just wondering has anyone on here done one or now of one? cheers Geth
I saw a riding mower with a 5.6L Chevy V8. I did look behind the engine to see the flywheel with nothing connected. Was a demo for a seller of wiring harnesses to put fuel-injected engines in classic cars.
Hard part with a cycle engine is the drive is horizontal. Would have to be mounted low to have clearance for chain drive. Or find a real small differential and shaft drive.
Boxer twin engine with the crank mounted vertically?
Shaftie, maybe XS1100 or Vmax with a bevel drive off the end of the shaft?
Sorted, shaft drive, with the business end rotated 90 degrees.
That deserves a pint.
Chunko'.
well i had in mind, either a shaft drive or chain drive Farm ATV quad bike with rear axle, complete with the disc brakes, atm im just chucking a few ideas about because i still havent finished the first project (the toylander mower), but thanks for the thoughts
yeahh fair point, but ive grown up around mowers and i do like to be different, haveing a bit of fun on a ATV would be easy building a mower powered by a ATV engine and running gear would be a challenge
Why not combine a recent post "petrol powered mobility scooter" with you ideal a "petrol powered rideon mower mobility scooter" best of all worlds and if you get injured .... well you have a mobility scooter to get around on
