Hi
I am working on restoring a Secoplus e300 mig from Sechy, so that it can be used again for welding.
It is a mig from around 91 and comes from the Swiss company Sechy, how ever all that is inside the feeder is the same as in the Murex Transmatic 162-244.
This is a first generation pulse mig maschines but I only want to use it as a normal mig, and for welding with electrodes.
The mechanical part of the mashine works, you can weld with it, but the power delivered is way too low.
Welding 3.25mm electrodes goes but 4mm electrodes not.
With mig you can weld 4 mm steel with 1.6 wire, but for heavier matrials there is insufficient power.
On the circuit board it is visible that 3 resistors are burned and a capacitor has burned on an extra small circuit board. From these parts I found the value ( resistors 22, 47 and 91 ohm) and replace them, but the resistors burn again when you start to use the mig. They are fed by an extra coil on the main travo and not by the one that is feeding the wire feeder box.
For the rest, I have not been able to see or measure anything what is causing this .
I suspect there is something wrong with the rectifier, but can I measure this?
and can this cause burning resistors on the circuit board.
What is the best way to look further after the error and the cause of low power?
This mig is connected to three phase 220v 35amp, Norwegian standard.
Here are some pictures
Thanks from Norway : )
