I've got a 1HP 3 phase Brook motor that I am fitting to a wood lathe via a VFD, it runs fine but the bearings are a bit rattly. Anybody swapped these out before? It doesn't look a difficult job, but if there are any gotchas that other people have encountered then it would be nice to know
It came out of a Boxford 280T lathe hence the colour. I'm not using a modern frame motor as 80 frames are too long to go in the bottom of the viceroy and I can't get a 1HP 4 pole 1500rpm motor in a 70 frame, and even that would be a squeeze, this fits lovely.
Cheers
Andy
