We call company supplied heavy duty bin bags “retirement bags” as everyone starts stockpiling boxes of them prior to retirement.Did you not collect a few as a retirement gift, before you hung up your boots. Ive 4 1kg kits left from the kind donation a previous employer made to me. Their desperate need to tidy up and get rid of shutdown contingency left overs, was quite beneficial to a few of us.

when you tap it and screw it in make it a fraction longer sticking up then peen it over with a ball pein hammer and grind it back flush . it should completely fill in the hole and not be seenWow. Thanks for all the thoughts!
I think I'll start out by tapping the hole as part of the exercise is prettifying the vice and I think by tapping I can make it pretty close to invisible . Not sure that I'll be able to do that with JB Weld even if it functions the same.
I'll post results once I've finished.
Thanks once more
Ah of course! Wish I had read this. Here is a video of a hole I filled yesterday which didn't end up invisiblewhen you tap it and screw it in make it a fraction longer sticking up then peen it over with a ball pein hammer and grind it back flush . it should completely fill in the hole and not be seen
Yeah sorry. Its my first video. I think it's visible now.You need to change the setting to make the video viewable.
Lucky to have got a kilo of well in date 1111 for 75 off ebay which is about as cheap by weight as JB weld, but yes I think it's over 3x that at normal retail.Hmmm Belzona……£££££’s
it goes off with age i had some that did
Looks much betterHere are the two final holes filled. I didn't manage to make them invisible as I concerned about damaging the vice if I peened the repair plugs too hard however as with the repair of the hole in the jaw I think it looks better.
I've included pictures of the finished restoration and the initial condition for interest.
Thanks for all the previous comments!

I know mine will be expired, as Ive not worked for over 6 years. But I used some from a part used tub, that must have been initially opened 4 years ago a few weeks ago and worked fine.Lucky to have got a kilo of well in date 1111 for 75 off ebay which is about as cheap by weight as JB weld, but yes I think it's over 3x that at normal retail.
Had 8 x M10 20mm deep holes to fill in a cast table, had to work quick but did a great job, still best part of a kilo left.
Stated to have a 5 year shelf life, mines still got 4 years according to their batch expiry indicator.
But I have still vacuumed packed them.
@addjunkie you can check expiry by batch number here - https://www.belzona.com/en/products/product_search.aspx
Good to know this, I won't be binning it post expiry!I know mine will be expired, as Ive not worked for over 6 years. But I used some from a part used tub, that must have been initially opened 4 years ago a few weeks ago and worked fine.
How far out are the holes? A clash wouldnt be goodHello fellow hole fillers.
I did not want to make a seperate thread for my question .
I am restoring an 80 year old vise and the jaws were beyong saving.
So I bought new ones from a Bahco vise and the dimensions are perfect.
The screw holes dont align with the old ones ( i did know that beforehand)
My idea was to 2K epoxy glue screws in the old holes , cut the screws flush and try to drill new holes and tap them.
Would that be an adequate repair?
