Hi folks. I have a timing belt to change on my wife's 10 year old 180000 mile VW Tiguan TDI.
The belt kit comes with two new studs one for an idler and one for a tensioner.
These need to be replaced as apparently they risk failure if re used. Torque to 20nm + 45°.
They are steel 8mm studs into alloy block.
Just seeking advice on best way to remove these
Have used 2 nut method previously or even vise grips but don't want to risk snapping them. Is there a better way or recommend tool to use?
I've seen a few different types but reading reviews they are not great.
Any advice or recommendations welcomed
