Hi guys first post
so here is my query, before that i will tell of the circumstances surrounding my query. basically i'm doing a welding course with atl (yes i know they have alot of dodgy reviews) it takes me to NVQ level three in welding and fabrication technologies an im due to go in and do my level one practicals in OA and MIG but not yet TIG/MMA basic pa and pb fillet, lap and butt. I currently work in a food factory (flour mill to be precise) and have managed to sweet talk the head of the engineering department into sorting me out some work with the fabricator and some of the contractors that do repairs on the silos. this is due to start around october and is dependant on a) me passing my level 1 practicals so that they can put me on the insurance and b) having experience of MMA and TIG basic skills as they are aware that im in the learning process but im guessing those are the main processes they use as well as plasma cutting. now my query. Im looking for a welder under the £400 mark preferably around the 250 - 300 mark so i can get the consumbles and and ppe included aswell. im guessing that a dc tig/arc inverter would be the way to go but also needs to be able to run off a standard uk mains supply so i can practice at home. please if anyone could advise it would be much appreciated
cheers mateys
