20 years ago bought a scrap hacksaw most parts missing and worn. so i sripped it cast some bronze bar turned some new main bearings and fitted.the crankpin was worn so made a new one hardened it and fitted the guide bars were worn so i reground them on a surface grinder the vice jaws were had it so refaced them. turned and screwcut a new rod for the vice bought new pulley bored and fitted . second hand motor and contactor fitted worked through a microswitch which i fitted that wasnt on the original .new belts . the blades are 14 inch hss and quite expensive so i bought a joblot of 16 inch blades cheap cut them down redrilled a new hole using a cheap screwfix masonary drill sharpned as an ordinary twistdrill .spot heated the blade with welding torch and drill goes streight through the saws had a lot of use but is stiill good as new
