It was bound to happen. Now the family know I can (sort of) weld I'm getting requests.
I've been asked if I can do something to replace a 6 metre fence. Heres a pic of what it looks like at present:
As you can see, those posts don't look, and aren't, true and they are also not in line horizontally.
But they are solid enough to tie to, I think. So I was thinking of 3 panels, bolted to each other and then "hung" from the posts. Would something like this work?
Or would the brackets need more purchase on the posts something like this
I'm trying to get a plan together before I start buying or cutting anything.
Anyone done something like this before who can give me some tips or ideas?
I'm thinking 30x6 flat bar and 12mm round infills. I read they need to be close enough so that a 90mm sphere can't pass between so spaced 90mm centre to centre should cover that.
The plan would be:
I'm not on a deadline as such as its not for profit so I can take my time and get it right. Should keep my weekends occupied for a while...

The plan would be:
- Cut flat bar to horizontal and vertical lengths
- Drill holes in vertical ends for bolting together
- tack into rectangles
- Offer up to posts to mark where the holes need to be for brackets
- attach brackets to posts
- offer up panels again to check they fit and are level and square
- weld in vertical infills
- check they still fit!
- send for powder coating
- Beer
