up until January this year I have never touched an arc welder, when aldi sold the buzz boxes for £40 I thought it was cheap enough to give it ago, did a little and got the hang of laying beads then it just sat under my bend, I did try use it on a few project but I was no good with joints so I was put off using it, I have been using it over the last week doing to fillet joints and after a bad start, (wrong rod angle and to long arc which resulted in a small bead on one side of the metal with slag) I have finally got the hang of it, still have some rough ones but mainly all look good, still having a few problems with rods sticking when starting the arc. I knew the duty cycle was going to be a problem and its now annoying me, burn 3 rods and wait 7 mins for it to cool down, burn about one and half then wait another 7 mins.
anyway does any body have this welder

it looks good and the price is attractive, I don't have a major use for it, it is something new I wanted to learn and get good at then can move on using it in projects etc. not something that's going to get a huge amount of use. it has a duty cycle of 35% on full power does this mean it can go flat out for 3.5 mins and then cool for 6.5?
another machine I have looked at is
http://www.weldingsuppliesdirect.co...i-160-mma-inverter-arc-welder-tig-welder.html
slightly more money and slightly more powerfull. cant help but feel I don't need this much for my needs and usage. my buzz box is only 80 amps and have been using 2.5 rods fine?
both of these have a lift tig function, does this give the same weld characteristics as a cheap tig welder? again something I have never used but since I could get a hobby weld agron bottle without braking the bank could give me something else to learn at a later date if I wanted to? (not trying to learn every type of welding going
