I am probably stupid, but whatever! I have bought one of the cheep hobby powder coating guns with a box that adds the electrostatic charge, it is second hand and comes with some powders to play with, I am just trying it out as rattle cans are driving me daft.
So a couple of questions, I though about a small fan in side to stair things up but then thought as it is a powder until it melts that may be a bad idea. I have also seen Youtube videos of some using grill ovens and I think the only comment I really got from using them was that the element must have a baffle?
I believe the temp range is typically 200 to 220 degrees C, but guess I will discover that when I get the powders.
Now I do not have a spare oven lying about so decided to try and build something as a get me going thing, very limited space, and uses a 1kW heater. This is what I put together today, the only thing that I had to buy in was the 100l metal drum, £6 for two of them the one on the bottom is a stand at the moment. Looking to hold a few 10" x 12 to 14inch pieces at the most for the time being.
Planning to have a metal plate over the top of the element.
but that is tomorrows job as well as a couple of bars for supporting things on.
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Adrian
