Thought I'd pop a pic or two of the lamp i've recently completed. Made from the the side restraint of a abandoned wheelchair.
To show I'm no craftsman,
Found an electric heater which donated the reflective sheet, and an old fridge gave up its power cable. Left the rear exposed for now so I am reminded to add a cable stop before the addition of a lid.
The ballast has an intergrated bulb holder, and the bulb is a Phillips (wavelength (nm) 310-315).
All combined the total expendiure is a tad under £40. Commercially available units of the same wattage sell for £100+
Receipient was very happy with present
