Guys, I've just learnt the hard way how easy it is for theiving scum to break into your Garage/Shed/Workshop and make off with your hard earned possessions
Luckily they only got away with my 3 week old bike and helmet which was right by the door. I can only assume they were not expecting the internal alarm and were scared off by it, thereby leaving the rest of my workshop "kit" alone.
If you have an up and over door (even a good quality one like mine) they are obviously more easily defeated that I had ever previously appreciated. They've pushed in the top of mine, got a purchase under the bottom of the door and literally wrenched the thing open, and there doesn't appear to be any tool marks on the door so I can only assume its been done by hand. Plus they must have done this in broad daylight whilst I was at work!
Suffice to say when I get my door replaced I will be going to town with extra locks and bracing! I've found some shutter bolts which look good, also thinking about perhaps a garage defender which looks like a decent bit of kit.
Garage Defender
So guys, remember to protect your kit! Tom.
