As above,
I have been using the tiny bottles from Machine Mart with my Clarke 150TE. I understand these bottles aren't supposed to last long and my welds have never been much good so I thought I must have run out of gas ages ago and not realised. Bought an Argon/CO2 mix (previously was using plain CO2) and fitted it but then testing the old CO2 bottle with a little screwdriver, found there was loads of gas left in it. However, when I open the regulator to full and key the torch (with no power on) all I can hear coming out is an initial burst of gas and then hardly any. Is that normal or should I be able to hear a high flow of gas ?
I have to turn the reg way past maximum and tehn screw it down hard to get the gas to come out.
I asked at Machine Mart and was going to buy a new regulator but they said they are all pretty much the same and that was probably normal.
Main reason for asking is I am thinking of welding up the chassis this weekend so welds need to be strong. Did have a professional welder coming to do just the chassis bits but he's let me down.
