Our plough has had a very poorly headstock right from when we bought it a few years ago, the slop in the main pivot was enormous. It also had a damaged secondary linkage where the pin and bosses were bent.
The tractor we use it on has lower link sensing, so it didn't need a perfectly rigid plough to make it work, but finally I decided to bite the bullet and repair it.
The plough
Pulled the headstock off.... it has two taper roller bearings, with a locknut holding it all together.
This bearing has seen better days.
Knuckle joint left, see the "repaired" secondary joint pin with weld holding it together...
Got the bits into my shop
First job - straighten the bent dogbone link. Notice the old pin welded to a bar - used for straightening. The pin is very bent!
