I am thinking of getting one of these next to make life easier, does anyone have experience of these, and or advice? its about my price range...
thanks, Chris.
Just looked on the ifl inverter website and the torch has a trigger setup, always had good service from weldequip so that's looking favourite at the moment
I agree,i have a 2nd hand P40HF not bought from R-Tech and although it has a display fault the machine does its job i've cut up to 12mm steel with ease and i'm well happy.
The one thing that does put me off is the torch as jim said its a cheap looking thumb job strapped to the back would much prefer a mig torch type trigger setup etc
Plasma cutting takes a bit of practice and nerves esp if you want to do profiles curves etc,you so much as fart, burp or take your eye off the line the torch will know this then you find you've under/over cut where you want to be which can raise a few blue words
I have had the force 40 version since last summer and have had no problems with it.
The torch is a it mickey mouse but works.
It comes with an external paddle switch which I did not like,
I could see it easily being activated by accident, not nice, or being a bit unpredictable due the length of the switch.
Conveniently it got snagged when I was putting it away and broke the paddle off. I was on to Rtech and a replacement came the next day.
then I tried using it and preferred it this way.
Like the microswitch on my old torch.
The consumables look a bit cheap, but they are cheap and last ages.
So overall a god buy.
I bought a Tech-Arc 46i plasma cutter about 3 years ago via Weldequip and it has been faultless ever since. Not a cheap machine but comes with a 6m Trafimet CB50 torch. Only two small gripes with it, the filter regulator is on the back and the gauge is vulnerable to being knocked and the rubber sheath on the 6m lead is not particularly flexible.
Relatively clean cut on 12mm mild steel plate, dross has been knocked off.
