Hey, I didn't realise Bill Oddie was a welder...
I made a couple of wood burners, and read up on it.
Secondary air is really good, stoves can be twice as efficient, its just a pipe that sucks air from outside the stove, through a pipe across the red hot embers to heat the air up, and then out above the flames, unburnt gases then burn, brill to watch and doubles the efficiency.

It burns OK but smokes rather too much and I think it would do better with a baffle at the top. Does anyone have pictures of baffles in their/other log burners that I might use for reference material please?
