Plusgas is always my go to for anything seriously stuck.
It may well be the case that if you need something to work within a few minutes, then Product A may be best, but in cases where you can leave it for some time, Product B may be better.
I once experimented putting droplets of releasing agents on to a flat sheet of steel with a thin layer of rust. I was using a tiny glass syringe and needle to get really small drops. You can watch how the liquid spreads out from "ground zero"; you see quite different behaviour. Ideally, you would cover the test with a sheet of glass to minimise evaporation of the volatile components. It's always at the back of my mind to re-do the experiment, but in a more careful way, and get some pictures.
is it rust ? its more of a chenical reaction between steel and ali ?If it's something that can wait days it gets citric acid as strong as I can make it. Can't be rusted together if the rust has dissolved.
thought it was for mechanical use, freeing off something , not hand cream ?Brake fluid is horrible stuff that I dont want on my hands or anywhere, near where I am working.
As automatics are for old farts and women I have not yet had the displeasure of ATF on my hands, I imagine it might be similar.
Sadly most powerful cars are only automatic these days. They handle the torque better. Been that way for years. If you want a powerful engine you have to go automatic. Unless you can afford an Aston Valour. 700plus bhp and a manual box. Sadly £1 million plus.Brake fluid is horrible stuff that I dont want on my hands or anywhere, near where I am working.

No interest in cars and less for these silly ones. They are a tool to get me A to B. Im quite content with my cbr6 if I want to go fast.Sadly most powerful cars are only automatic these days. I have yet to find a nice auto gearbox that does exactly what I want and when I want. I have driven plenty in anger. Audi, Merc, BMW. Jag, Landrover, Aston to name but a few. I use them in sports or manual mode which helps along with flappy paddles but nothing compares to a good manual. Unless you are towing. Life is easier then with an auto.Nothing sad about it! A nice automatic gearbox is a dream to drive with. Just today I was out in the GTC and the gearbox was just perfectly behaved, with the right ratio at the right time almost like magic! That's an A4LD gearbox which is 1980s technology so I would imagine that they have only ever got better. In traffic I would hate to have a pudding stirrer gearbox again, like the rough Scimitar I drive during the week. Mind you, I suppose that I could complete the retro ensemble with a manual advance/retard, a manual choke to play tunes on and solid rubber tyres?
Yes the 10sp Ford is bad in the Ranger. I often catch it out. Sometimes with a bang unless you back off quick.I used to think autos were pointless... then I grew up and just started to drive and have them I'd really struggle to have a manual these days. Her car is manual and I CBA with changing gears all the time.
flappy paddles and a good auto box are every bit as good as any manual. Most ZF boxes change up pretty decently in auto mode, although I'm less sure about other makes. the ford 10spd is awful IMO.
Good autos = Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen. The 8HP is probably the best mass produced auto gearbox ever made, in my opinion.
Better on fuel than manuals, in some cases too!
My 5 series with the 8 spd auto box was superb! You could barely tell the shifts, hard to catch it out in normal driving. I can’t think of any time in the 4 years I owned it thinking “I wish I had a manual”. A good auto box takes the stress away from driving and actually made it enjoyable again.I used to think autos were pointless... then I grew up and just started to drive and have them I'd really struggle to have a manual these days. I hope the post about the losing any pressure in a few weeks doesn't happen (I ordered before I saw that!)
