Wanted to make a small self feeding pellet stove for my garage to keep the place cosy.
I followed David S's design on YT https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCed-3nlT0Mj1m5LrKjTIVQg/videos - It is well researched and developed, runs on pellets and is designed as a quick heater, not a mass heater or a stove.
As I want to wall mount it I have moved the flue central but the rest follows his design ratios and his updates (without the boiler). I used his slightly less efficient basket design in order to keep the temperatures down.
In order to keep it small I built it from 70mm x 3mm box. For a test I put a 2m flue on it (3m is install) and fired it up for a trial run today. Have not decided on the final door layout hence the magnets and plates but it works just fine, plenty of draught, lots of heat but not crazy, self feeds with pellet, minimal ash and no smoke at all.
Need to revise the secondary burn grate as my pellets are smaller than it is designed for, put a door on it and make some artistic "fins" but other than that happy with the way it turned out. I'll post up more pics when it is wall mounted.
