Indeed, or a wooden boat saturated in Linseed Oil and tarnothing like an open flame in a work shop with lots of flamables in a wood shed
When I was in the scouts in the early '60s we has a Primus stove with 4 burners, I tried to light it on several occasions but it would always flare up on one or more of the burners & I never got it to burn properly. I wonder what happened to it, it was a museum piece then.Here's one of mine I fired up a couple of weeks ago. I believe this is the biggest burner Primus fitted to one of their stoves. 5 minutes running in the shed and it was toasty in there.

Tried in the normal way with meths, it would light but wouldn't keep going properly & then flare up. I tried on several occasions. This was probably why it was stuck in a corner, everything we had was knackered, if it was any good someone nicked it.If it's squirting paraffin you're not lighting it properly..
