Hi all,
Im doing some work on my defender 110 at the moment and have to replace a section of the aluminium floor and tidy up another bit.
The new section under the second row seats is bright new aluminium and the existing stuff has the old glue from the carpet and needs rubbing down and painting as its bright red and the vehicle is now blue.
Can I rub back down to metal, removing all the paint/glue on the old stuff, and etch prime the ali then use the spray can colour of my choice?
Will it need some kind of lacquer or coating on top?
It doesnt need to be shiny just a good solid colour and its got to be reasonably hard wearing as its going to walked on or kicked by the kids. I do plan to put rubber mats on the floor and a later date sound proofing, might be a while till I get to the sound proofing though.
Has anybody got any recommendations on coatings, paints or other methods?
Thanks
Gordon
