I have put 2 coats ( hand brushed) of Rustin anti corrosion paint onto some handrails and my intention is to put a matt black on and then a clear coat to finish. I want to keep the steel finger mark free, hence the clear coat.
My thinking is that next year I will only have to touch up the top clear coat and the matt black underneath will be protected.
My local paint shop left me more confused than before I went in and ended up selling me cellulose paint.
I am not keen on using water based black and I need something that is compatible with the clear top coat
Can anyone suggest anything. I have no spray equipment and I am happy to brush paint the black for more build and either brush or rattle can the clear coat
Thanks
