Hi,
Just about to buy an oxy / propane torch and plan to use a 19kg LPG cylinder and 20l oxygen cylinder. I am hobby working in my garage which is attached to the house.
I know that propane should not be stored in the garage so plan to keep that outside. I also read that oxy and propane should not be stored together? If it was safe I would store them together outside and run the hoses in when I want to use the torch. The propane cylinders can be chained up easily to stop theft (not that we bother with the ones we use for our cooking hob). Is this true for the oxygen cylinder - I don't have one yet so can't check? I could buy or fabricate a steel mesh cage but that just adds more cost so would rather just chain them up if that would be ok? Of course a cage would offer a bit more propection from accidental damage but not too worried about this at the side of the garage.
I also considered a trolley but if I need to store this all outside then the trolley is just asking for somebody to come and wheel it all away....
What do others do? What is safe and best practice?
Thanks, Chris.
