I've been offered an "Oxford Welder", thats as much as I know, can anyone let me know anything about them?
Hi Andy, good old bits of kit,oil filled,ac,very reliable but v heavy.I believe there is an outfit still making them, regards,Mick
its suposed to be changed every 2 years . er mines been in 25 ish it would be worth a look inside but i cant be bothered tranny oil is quite expensive i think they hold 2 and a half to 3 gallonHi, Good old reliable tools the oxford, and the pickhill, beloved of farmers up and down the land. But, because they go on forever they get neglected and thats what usually kills them, the oil absorbs moisture which then attacks the insulation on the coils, so if you get it, open it up and check out the oil inside, might benefit from a change! you can still get transformer oil if you look about.

Finally got a little bit more info. Unfortunately it's three phase so not going to be able to utilise it.
