I have a tig maker and I tripped over the foot pedal cable today and now it will only go from 40 amp straight up to full power which is 200 amp no inbetween. I pulled the pedal plug out which is a 4 pin plug and it is a standard Oxford one that comes with them and two of the cable were out from where they were. Put the cables back in and the machine still won’t work properly. Sprayed contact clean in the plug and socket still no change. I opened the pedal up it’s self, all seem to be fine tighten all the screws up and sprayed contact cleaner on them, and it’s still doing it. When I take the plug out and play with amps the digital screen all seems to be working fine. Also did some stick welding with it no problem with the machine. I’m thinking I have damaged the plug between where the cables screw in and the pins? Anyone else had something similar happen don’t really want to have to buy a new pedal to find out it’s the machines that’s at fault. The cable consists of four wires, three black with 123 on different ones and a earth cable. The two black ones came out not the earth so I don’t think I have put it back together in the wrong holes cheers
