hello all
i have recently destroyed my oven door. it was the new fangled type that is mainly made from glass. there is an outer sheet of glass and an inner sheet of glass. These are held by two extruded sections of aluminium at either end. The outer sheet is glued to the extrusions and forms the body of the door and the inner glass fits into a channel.
Anyhow. the door is out of production and i need to fix it. Dont fancy messing on with glass much as it will probably just break again so im thinking a piece of aluminium plate welded to the extruded sections will do the business.
what grade of aluminium plate should i buy? to match in with the other cooker door it will be 4mm thick. do i need to worry about expansion etc. with the heat from the cooker?
