ok guys have been looking a round and I'm going to get my first welding helmet, it won't be the first welding helmet I have used as at work we have an auto and a fixed shade unitor helmets which are from the ship chemical and welding suppliers. Fixed shade helmet form them that is nothing special costs $116 so I know Shore side they don't cost that much and there is much better brands out there. It will be for hobby mig, tig and mma use. I have heard good things about the optrel weld cap £135 off eBay and am tempted as it seems light enough/compact enough to take to work with me and one which I have heard nothing about the optrel neo p550 at about £142. Any advice on which one is better. After an optrel for an auto helmet as they were the company that invented them apparently and as with bahco and the adjustable spanner usually the inventors do them best.
