Well after reading all the recommendations on here I was almost sold on a Portamig 181, but then I came across the Thermal Arc fabricator 181i.
It's interesting as it's got an even lower amp rating down to 10A on mig. Also has lift tig and arc funtions. Not sure how much I'd use them but may be interesting to start learning tig without having to buy another machine.
So has anyone used one got any opinions. Are they easy to set-up and use. Is the wire feed and arc stable or problematic. One concern I've got is the undoubted large amounts of new fangled electronics compared with a traditional transformer mig and the reliability and parts availablility.
Couple of the online suppliers list them as big seller so someone must have used them and have an opinion.
