I'm new here, and new to Mig welding. I was recently given an old SIP Autoplus 150 that my friend bought in about 1988. SIP has told me this machine is obsolete and have been pretty hard to communicate with. My problem is a source or information about the gas shroud. My friend had used a Miller shroud, I believe, but he felt it wasn't quite the right length and since he couldn't get new ones for the SIP he gave up on it. It slips on, about 1/2" or so unthreaded, held on by an expanding wire spring--more like a C-clip, really--that is held in a groove on the end of the torch part. As near as I can tell it's about 2-1/8" long and about 1/2" ID on the business end. Has anyone got any knowledge of this machine, and what shroud might work? I can send photos if that would help, both of the welder and/or the torch. Thanks.
