And I had one through the post.........British Refund Services or something like that.......saying I was due a tax refund so would I send my bank details
but the name was Sarah Heptonstall or something....
My dad was watching Youtube clips the other day from a guy who's managed to turn the tables on a bunch of them. Apparently some of the remote control software they are using has been altered to prevent initiating a connection from certain countries so what they are doing is getting you to initiate the connection and then switch the control to the other person. But for that initial period you're in control of their PC.
GAME ON!!!!!
He has a pre-prepared script that he can run which makes their screen go black whilst he goes to work installing his own back doors to their PCs. He's had all sorts of details off them including in at least one case the list of accounts they've managed to compromise and the details of the account that they are putting their ill-gotten gains into. Needless to say some people that have fallen victim have had un-expected refunds of their money.
Dunno how this guy sets himself up as a victim to get them to try and scam him in the first place but he's "done" a good few of them from the looks of it.
I take it everyone here has heard the Tom Mabe telemarketing call? worth a search on Youtube.
Personally I like the idea of answering unknown numbers with "I've done it! but there's blood everywhere!" Never quite plucked up the guts to try it though.
