Hi everyone,
Top forum, I wandered over after being told about it on Retro-Rides.
Been doing lots of reading over the last few days as I have never picked up a welding torch before but I have just bought a new camper that needs a small repair to the front seat mount and I though rather than pay someone to do it I would give it a bash myself.
What are the odds of a newbie welder being able to do a nice neat butt welded patch do you think?
I know from experience in other areas of DIY you need to start with the right equipment and so am on the lookout for a s/h clarke. Still undecided whether I should go for a pro 90 as I imagine I will mostly be doing bodywork or go for a more powerful one which would be more versatile in the long run..... but suppose will go with what I can find.
Anyway I look forward to posting my progress over the next few weeks, welding is something I have wanted to learn since watching my grandad wield an oxy acetylene years ago.
Cheers
