hi all, have done a bit of welding now with an old MIG (will find model later) and feel I know what I am trying to do...
recently bought a 2004 Peugeot Boxer, and didn't pay enough attention... 2 areas are bad underneath..
I am after some advice really..
One area is what I can only describe as the inner Drivers Side sill, a sheet containing (from memory) a series of curved sections and joined with some outriggers..
I am trying to find a diagram of this area/part, but no luck so far..
the other area is a join between the main chassis and a front Near side outrigger (front of sliding-door region).. the chassis wall, and then the outrigger itself, that are corroded.. the chassis wall has partial corrosion, i have already found good metal..
I will take/post some pics later..
I realise the pics are needed.. but I am asking mysef -
Do i throw the van away and sell what I can from it, or do i attempt some MOT welding/plating/repairs if nothing else just for experience ?
I have a space to work but no ramp.. apart from the welder I have the grinder, some new (prob 1mm) sheet steel and other tools .
not in a massive rush either.
thanks, John
