Hi. I was an electrician for many years and very hands on. Recently retired and looking to start metal sculpture as a hobby/ Pass time and maybe even turn it into a business.
My brother was a tanker welder- hes in the US now but I used to be intrigued when I watched him weld. Two of my cousins are also welders but live on the other side of the world now.
I just need to know A/ What is the best welder to purchase for sculpture welding (3-4mm steel bar or tube) and B/Can I just learn from scratch ie, self taught, or is it best to go do maybe a C&G course?
Please don't put me off this with negativity as I have set my heart onto it- I have a big garage laid empty and a lot of enthusiasm. I used to have a craft business to so I have lots of ideas for sculptures ready to pour out
