Evening guys.
Some of you probably no that I have a little myford ml1. I have spent a couple of days just turning down a small lump of steel. Just to get a feel for it and generally trying to learn by making mistakes. Now my question is. I have a steel pulley that I need to boar out.it will not fit in the three jaw chuck but will fit in the four jaw once I have it in centre. Now the picture below shows the pulley mounted in the chuck but I don't like how little it has gripped on the chuck jaws. It's about 5mm. Is this ok as I don't particularly fancy that flying off .
As said I am totally new to this so what might look straight forward to you lathe guys might not to me yet.
