Hi all,
A newbie to this forum / site and have been reading a fair amount before writing my first post. I think I'm fairly set on what I'm getting:
Clarke 135te - I've found it for £250 - I was considering a sealey supermig 140, but there doesn't look to be a huge amount of difference between them, and Clarke seem to have the better reputation, and it comes with an industrial regulator, which makes up the cost difference on its own.
I plan on using the BOC small bottles of argoshield to begin with, just until I see how much I use it.
Other than wire, helmet and gloves is there anything else I need to buy?
Finally, are these OK to use on a standard socket, and can I use an extension (fully uncoiled 13 amp) lead with them (my welding area is some way from the closest socket). I'm only going to be welding up thin-ish steel on the landrover, and maybe the odd thicker job when I get a bit more skilled.
Thanks
J
