For a year now Ive had a cheap arc welder but have struggled with maintaining a good bead, so have decided to jump ship to mig after a brief tutorial at my evening blacksmithing class. I ideally want a welder for all thicknesses of mild steel, I have picked up from the forum that Clarke seem to be the best cheaper welders and have a little under £300 to spend at the most. The two welders that interest me are the clarke mig 160tm turbo and the clarke mig 135TE what with the VAT free shopping at machine mart I hope to get it cheaper. However, I have two questions can the 160TM run off 13amp plug and is it worth the extra £80 compared to the 135te. If any one has any experience with either I would appreciate any knowledge or other recommendations
Thank you very much for reading my rather long post and hope you can help
