Hi all,
I need a mig - last time I welded was 10 years ago and I used a budget SIP machine, with varying results!
I've decided that other than my incompetence, the machine was at leaar=t partly to blame for some of the less than perfect welds.......
I'm tempted by the Portamig/MTA/Tec Arc machine, but am wondering if my 600 quid could be better spent on a used high quality machine (Butters/Migatronic/etc.)?
Or even 2-300 on a used Murex or similar?
I will be mainly working on steel car bodywork, but must be able to weld some chassis and Aluminium. Also, spot timers and similar features are a bonus, but smooth/east/consistent welds are the priority.
All advice gratefully received.
Cheers,
Paul
