…. currently the motor is 415v only but I’d like to run it with a vfd so need to be able to change it from star to delta
Can the motor you have not be changed to delta configuration? Most can.
I’ve changed two, from star to delta, just recently. One was very easy, the other a little more difficult.
Things that might complicate matters are motor power, dual speed motors and contactors requiring more than 230V.
Do you have a better pic of the data plate? Looks like the star point is hard wired inside, it would be difficult to seperate and being the connections out - tho people have done it before.
Google "Electric Motor Repairs "Can anyone recommend a decent place to buy a motor for my m300 lathe, currently the motor is 415v only but I’d like to run it with a vfd so need to be able to change it from star to delta
@Fastdruid I agree you are able to get a bigger motor in place, but the foot pattern will be key as to not encroach on the slots in the plate.
It's already a complete a**e to get in with a spanner to adjust the plate and tension as it is ..with the wrong size it will be almost impossible.
That said yours looks a lot easier than the original !!
