First post, but I have been learning to weld for about 3 years now. I did a course at a local college which gave me the basics and now I just practice before attemping the real job. I am currently rebuilding a Classic (read rusty) Mini and I am looking for a good welder which will run off single phase 240v electrics. I have learnt to weld using a Clarke 150te welder which is great but, could do with a little more control on the lower settings, when welding body panels etc.
Having looked at the options, I realise that the portmig 185 would probably be a good upgrade, or is there something else I should consider within a similar budget. Mig Tig and Arc in Portsmouth sell a MTA185 which looks identical apart from the colour, is this correct.
Thanks for the advice in advance.
Cheers Mike
