Beat me too itThat looks like a gear cutter but it isn't. It's a side and face cutter for a horizontal mill.
Looks like ill be on the hunt for some change wheels to cut metric too, but got my work cut out getting this beauty back to its former glory

Was planning on using this
Any better alternatives people have used
Be carefull to the gears in the headstock...iff the burrs were intrusive to the meshing then they would of worn away. might be better iff left alone as start filling and i bet it becomes noisyManaged a bit more cleanup on the Harry, suda sumo now all cleaned out,
Also drained the gearbox, now on closer inspection I'll be stripping it down. Pretty much all the gearing has burrs on them where they have been hastily engaged over the years. So I'll have the enjoyable task of filling each tooth individually. A job for the dining table I reckon
minefield of opinions...i use ATF in my Harrison and it runs smooth. BTW as been stated you have to kinda feed these gears in by juggling the chuck till engaged, you cant just bang the levers and expext them to go in,there all the same bud and its a normal proceddure Slideways just use clean engine oil at the nipples but dont use grease on any of it..Regarding oil, seen quite a few different opinions. The equivalent oil to what the plate says is ISO 220, seems quite a thick oil more suied to slideways, is this right?
