Hi All,
I have posted a few times on this forum, the help has always been good, so fingers crosed for this post I have recently done a 20 week course at night school to give me the 'basics' of DC and a bit of AC Tig
I have looked at the prices of AC/DC units and er kin ell "Quite", as I was seriously concerned as to just how I well would now get on I took the advice of the instructor and have just bought a VVVGC Kemppi KEMPAK 150 DC TIG all complete with torch, regulator, leads, etc, and genuine trolley with wheels etc - no pedal....but I will prob try to relearn without a pedal Yeah....
This way if I can get a load of pratice and get on well then I may have a fit and buy a AC DC invertor ....as Ali is the 'target' - I MIG everything else (or "sikaflex gun it" as a mate calls it ) but it will be usefull for maybe thin stuff.... if I can crack it with pratice.
Anyways, can anyone help me with the following Qs - basically at the college the machines were set up for us
I have a Mig Speedglass Helmet gloves etc etc
It has No torch Tungstens etc, and a Reg but no gas
I am going to weld steel and some Stainless - both for practise
The questions therefore are :

The questions therefore are :
- I am going shopping what consumables do I need ?
- Tips shrouds etc etc ?
- For welding what width tungstens do I need for which ?
- Gases - is it Agroshield for Steel and Argon for stainless ?
- Anyone got a user manual for one of these - will pay good beer money
- Any advice re setting up ?
- Or any other advice
