Gentlemen -
I'm a long time guest but this is my first post.
I've just bought my first workbench and I'd like to i) remove the rust & ii) protect it as best as I can.
I'm completely out my depth, I'm not even sure what type of steel plate is on the top (3000x1250x10mm).
I'd be extremely grateful if you could advise me on how best to remove the rust, I've got a small angle grinder & orbital sander but like the idea of chemically treating the surface.
*Incidentally, welding is not on the horizon for the immediate future, so presumably once the rust is removed, painting would be the most effective protection?
Cheers,
Craig
