The aim is to build a lockable box to fit on top of my 6'x4' ifor wiliams trailer to add extra carrying capacity for garden cuttins etc as its very shallow at just 40cm and also to make it nice and secure for carrying higher value stuff.
Frame is made of 25 x 25 x 3mm angle, tailgate (double doors hinged either side opening from the middle) and lid will be made from 25 x 25 box. Sides will be skinned with 10mm ply, top with 5mm ply for weight. Tailgate with 1mm galv sheet. The lid will be removable and the whole thing removable by undoing a few bolts. The only change to the trailer itself will be five holes drilled in the top rail.
This is where I'm up to at the moment
Component parts for one side
Finished side
test fitting sides
sides and front panel.
More to follow as I do it.
