Yes I would guess you probably have but have you got the results you want on flat plate. It doesn’t matter how many you do. You only move on when you’ve mastered the basics.Richard thanks for the comment I have spent quite a while on flat plates I have a whole stack of them on my bench that's why I disided to try a step further thanks for the info ☺
The top one you have done with out filler. Don’t do this! The bottom one however looks great.View attachment 125279 You are a bit ahead of me. I got my dc lift-tig setup on Monday.
I managed to get a couple of butt joints to hold together yesterday (Picture attached. 2mm mild steel. 1 joint with no filler, 1 using 1.6mm filler).
Trying a fillet joint today reminded me that I have a steep learning curve ahead of me..
I won't put the pictures of that up.
