I took the plunge and did a couple of days with Chunkolini the other week and loved it so I was on the look out for a decent Mig.
I did my research mostly on this forum and came to the conclusion that I could spend £300ish for perhaps the Clarke 160 or push the boat out and go for the Portamig 185. Well being a plumber for 40 years has taught me to buy the best tools you can afford, its cheaper in the long run. So upped the budget reasoning that if I don't get on with welding (unlikely - had so much fun with Chunko') I can always sell it and not loose to much!
I was going to order one from Weldequip but something was telling me to wait and the I found a second hand one that hadn't been used but was bought 6 months ago and was the right price! Was a bit worried but the guy had the original receipt which I've now got and it came with auto Falcon auto helmet ( probably not the best but ok for now) 32amp extension lead and a few other bits. Now I've just got to learn to use it!
Here she is and the 235 to boot
