You can also put a horn on it quite easily, a bit of convex flat edge bar or even a piece of decent size round adds to its usefulness

Not really, its only a sheet metal tool and not used for conventional blacksmithing, if it gets dented I'll just linish it out, the radius part is used mainly for pre setting the ends of small stuff before rolling, its had a fair amount of bashing over the last 15 years or so, and I have only needed to clean it up a couple of times.Great stuff rail track.
Do you not find that the added metal which isn't hardened to be a bit soft and less effective compared with the rail track or a normal anvil?
I never knew rail was such a valuable thing outside of the railway!! Come across loads of these offcuts always walk past them, have to start collecting some up for you all.
