After reading everyones posts about building wood burners I have finally completed my own. It is my first attempt and must admit that I got a lot of information and ideas off this site so I am not taking any credit on design, just showing what I have done hoping you all like it. Some pictures of the build were lost off my phone due to a virus with my camera app so just bear with me on the description compared to the pictures. Everything on the burner was either scrap or material I had in the shop so has cost me nothing but mig wire and gas.
I started off with an old gas bottle removing the brass valve and filling with water
I then cut the bottom off and cut the door out using 1mm slitting discs. I am sitting the bottle on 6mm plate with legs cut from 6mm thick 4" angle. (Will see this later in the write up)
This is where the research and multiple questions come in, I made a secondary combustion chamber using 2" box which was welded at the back of the burner. To adjust the air flow I welded 2" tube at the bottom of the camber, drilled a 2" hole in the back of the burner and seam welded the tube to the burner. I also used the waste door blank to use as the baffle. Here I sat the bottle on the door blank and chalked around the inside and cut out using the trusty slitting discs.
