hi, i need a new part for my murex 180c & have been told by my local tool supply company that the parts are no longer available as it is 15 years old, anybody know of a company that can help.
Hi Kev, welcome to the forum .
Can you be more specific regarding which part you're after or what the fault is? There are a couple of dealers on here who may be able to help or if it's an electronics problem there are also people on here who can repair PCBs.
Cheers.
thanks for the quick reply, my welder packed up with loss of arc, when the inspection cover is removed i can see a burnt component, in the manual it is called a semi pack, part no. 500/12029, kev.
I have asked about parts for my old MIG before but no one could recognise the part numbers from the handbook, so i was wondering if some pictures of the part might help identify it, there is a EWM part number on it, MDD 90-04 A 8927, ART.NR.64.0065.04
Many thanks, Kev
i see two in the photo open the damaged one up and see whats in it, if your lucky there maybe a proper part number depends on what you see post a photo if possible
there are a lot of diode casing's normally they have markings on, if itseems like there were markings and it was easy to open the damaged case open the good one
That is an odd diode pair. Most have the common pin in the center.
You need a double diode module, common-cathode, probably 150-200A (that is per diode average, 150 would allow 300 out.)
weldequip may be able to source something similar. You may have to swap connections (most likely the wire comes in the center and the bus bars to the outer screws.) Or look at electronic parts like Farnell.
They are getting very hard to get these days. International Rectifier used to make them, then the line was sold to Vishay and most have become non-available.
