I am quite fascinated with this - tell me, what was the attraction of this unit as opposed to say a conventional caravan? I neither move around in caravans or motor homes but £100K for such a unit? Why so expensive when compared to a caravan of similar dimensions?Check out Nissan Celtic Rambler Fifth Wheel Trailer on eBay!

Bye....What you said was blatantly political. Shame.
Sorted that for him. I did not bring politics into the discussion. I merely explain real life and why no one can afford luxury items. There is a difference between partisan views and simple facts.Knock it off, both of you!
This is a welding forum, if you want to bicker about politics sod off and do it somewhere else.
I will reply later.I am quite fascinated with this - tell me, what was the attraction of this unit as opposed to say a conventional caravan? I neither move around in caravans or motor homes but £100K for such a unit? Why so expensive when compared to a caravan of similar dimensions?
Sorry, I am not intending to be armchair negative here I just want to understand.
Even when you apologise you are an ****..Sorted that for him. I did not bring politics into the discussion. I merely explain real life and why no one can afford luxury items. There is a difference between partisan views and simple facts.
But I take your comment and its impossible for it to happen again.
Back to the "Hotel is cheaper" debate.
While this does not fit my needs, there is a bunch of people that do like that lifestyle.
That's going to be design specific to some degree though? They crack....
The problem is of course, that any chassis will twist if you take it around hairpin bends on hillsides, the hab sections are not designed to twist (kitchen, bathroom and living area furniture does not flex), so something has to give. The stiffer the vehicle springs and more severe the road camber the worse it becomes.
There are a few points to raise with your view of the 5th wheel set up.You would think that wouldn't you.
We purchased a celtic rambler and navara outlaw with a view to touring Scotland and Europe.
My son declared they were going to give us a grandson instead. Lol
Anyway Celtic rambler is a UK made trailer by The 5th wheel company in Wales. Current new prices are over 100k.
Ours is up for sale we took it to a company so they can offer finance.
Guess what it's still not sold....despite 2 couples viewing the 100k plus newer version that has decals fitted. Saying they liked the clean looks of no decals better.

Ok I still feel.like death warmed up but put simply it's like going into a b&B OR a 4 Star hotel in terms of luxury.I will reply later.
"over here" I have counted a few with qty (5) slide outs.......Ok I still feel.like death warmed up but put simply it's like going into a b&B OR a 4 Star hotel in terms of luxury.
To be honest caravans have come a long way a a few even have a slide out.
This makes the living area massive and was probably the reason we purchased it.
We now have a static and it suits my wife's "live life to the full" outlook on life.
It's got underfloor and blown central. heating and massive amounts of accessible storage. Inside and out.
It tows a million times better than any caravan I have ever towed.
Its more comparable to a British motorhome than a caravan. European motor homes look pretty but are built for looks and living outside only going inside for sleeping. So are not really comfortable.
The newer ramblers have various optional choices and with their white leather and extras like dishwasher could be a better choice but 75k would get you one hell of a dishwasher.
There are a few points to raise with your view of the 5th wheel set up.
Firstly true luxury items think 200k horse boxes, million pound plus yachts sell no matter what is happening in the economy, a few points on interest rates make little difference if you have enough wealth or income. Where they do have a big effect is on the low and middle income wealthy sector particularly with those sailing shall we say close to the wind with the Rangie on the drive of the big house all on chuckie.
Campers vans or posher motor homes tend to be bought by those with smaller mortgages and retirement lump sums. The 100k 5th wheel doesnt really fit the motor home or caravan market as they are different, and feared by many who don't want to be using a pick up as there thirsty and a nightmare to park at Tesco. Mr and Mrs Average don't normally like different either, especially in the “caravan club” culture. Also most would fear the articulation again because its different to them and an unknown.
2 things ours has passed not 1 but 2 documented inspections ( but yes I agree the unknown is hard for the majority. Now the Navara…..worth pennies due to chassis snapping issues, this been a welding forum you'd be well placed to be competent with a mig, and plasma cutting enough bits to manufacture a rear 3/4 chassis. Its a shame because apart from snapping and rotting they were good pickups. Thats why you don't see many on the roads now in comparison to other brands. Id suggest trying to sell them separately. Let the buyer select their own pulling tool!
Don't disagree but there is a reason loans have been hard to get. It was the overnight big bang that crucified many mortgage holders who did not understand a 1/4% rise meant a big amount added to mortgage. As for interest rates before the wobble they were abnormally low, so really needed to creep up a bit to encourage some savers to actually save, its all about balance, go look at rates in our lifetime….
Its actually stunning. Its like chalk and cheese."over here" I have counted a few with qty (5) slide outs.......
When you first posted it I could see the quality of the construction, it looks much better than what we see here.
Quite a bitch as well.Your wife is a bit hairy eh ?
