To be fair I have worked in a garage, and it’s worth getting it checked out, by someone you trust, just don’t expect that to be dealerships or garages that just deal with modern cars, they will take your cash, but will probably be less experienced than a good diy’er
Yes, I worked at a large dealership too, after witnessing what went on there I totally agree with you.
Thing is do they need to learn about old stuff? 30 years ago when I went to college I was taught how to adjust a multispring clutch, never in my life have I needed to adjust a multispring clutch! If you own a older vehicle I would have thought you wouldn't generally go to a dealership but more likely to go to a specialist.
