I know there are dozens of thread on this topic, have just read twenty or so and I'm just as confused now as i was before!
My situation -
I run a home business in the evenings/weekends making stuff for the garden, a new line of planters needs a lot of welding (MIG) and grinding - just finished the first trial model and needed about two hours of welding and some heavy grinding to prep it for galvanising, all joints were fully seam welded and ground back etc.
Before this most of my work was brackets etc so a few short welds and little grinding - i didn't wear any breathing protection.
After welding this one up, the workshop (double garage) was very heavy with weld fume and after that, full of grind muck. I'm still scraping it out of my nose!
I wear prescription glasses for close stuff so the mask will need to play well with these, and a standard flip-up auto darkening helmet.
Can be disposable but they seem costy so maybe a replaceable filter type??
I have scanned eBay but the range is silly and descriptions seem vague - no point in buying/wearing a mask if its doing nothing.
Anyone give a clear idea of what to go for??
Maybe up to £100 or so.
